2025 Fishers Budget Sneak Peek: 🌱 + 💚 + ✏️

Fishers' 2025 budget is cooking with a $182.5 million plan. Property tax rate will stay the same as the past four years. Here’s some cool highlights:

🌱 We might be getting a second AgriPark at 106th and Allisonville.

💚 No more Nonprofit Committee. Instead, $250K would go straight to local heavy hitters like Conner Prairie and the Youth Mentoring Initiative.

✏️ An extra $50K ($550K) for the second year of Teacher innovation grants.

If you want to see the full presentation, there will be a public hearing on September 9.

Big thanks to LarryinFishers who went to this meeting because without him — we couldn’t give you this summary.

This is what 116th/Lantern Road will look like next year 🏙️

The Nickel Plate Review Committee is sharing the plans for a swanky 55+ community right in downtown Fishers. Here's the scoop:

  • 189 apartments for the young-at-heart crowd

  • Nearly 20,000 sq ft of retail space

  • Two new restaurants, including a high-end spot with outdoor seating

The developer is also working with the Arts Commission on a mural for the corner of South Street and Moore.

Want to see it for yourself? Here are the details. The committee's meeting is on August 28th at 1 Municipal Drive at 5 p.m.

Last call: Exteriors before winter*

A beautiful home in Fishers receiving the Spray-Net treatment

Summer is coming to an end. Which means it’s time to take on those projects you’ve been putting off all summer. Here’s one: Fixing your faded, damaged, or mismatched siding.

And not to put a timer on you, but it’s bad practice to repaint exteriors in the cooler months. It can lead to avoidable, long-term issues. Spray-Net takes pride in being able to offer a true 15-year warranty, so the time is now if you want to get your exterior re-done.

There’s a few more spots open on Rodney’s calendar to get a free quote. Their proprietary coatings can make your home look new in no time flat, with jobs usually done in 1-2 days. Call Rodney at ‭+1 (317) 408-4631‬. Or visit Spray-Net website Spray-Net North Indy

Local Business

Divvy: Food reviews by Zac — Highest rated so far

So far, our local food reviewer Zac has been to four local restaurants. Three of those reviews are published, with this divvy review being the latest.

Spoiler: It’s the highest rated so far 🔥

And now is the PERFECT TIME to go. For just $13, you can get a fantastic meal lunch. For $30, you can get a 3-course dinner meal.

A year since the restaurant dashboard came to Fishers 🅰

Speaking of restaurants, it’s been about a year since the city established the grading system based on sanitation conditions in restaurants. All of the “A’s” in windows around the feel great, and it seems like it’s been a productive way to hold everyone accountable. Here’s the current stats:

  • 315 have an A

  • 33 have a B

  • 6 have a C

You can read more on how the grading system works, and visit this website to see how your fav restaurant measures up.

Final State Fair Numbers

Did you attend the state fair this year? Over the course of 15 days, attendance numbers reached 854,000 people — that’s 10,000 more than last year!

The increase in attendees was likely due to some of the new events and features of the fair, like the splash pad and ARTSCAPE exhibit, as well as the star power from celebs like the Fever’s Caitlin Clark and singer/actor Keanu Reeves.

Construction This Week

There is no new info on this week’s construction report. So here is some good to know info around Allisonville since it’s talked about often:

  • When the 116th/Allisonville Road Roundabout is started next year, they plan to shut it down entirely and get it done with in 2-3 months instead of keeping partial lanes open

  • 96th/Allisonville should be done in Spring 2025
