The Digest
Two restaurants coming to Fishers? 🤭
Disclaimer: While neither of these are officially announced, they applied for Food Safety Permits through the City of Fishers — a strong sign they plan to build 💪
CAVA looks like it will go in next to Kura, the new revolving sushi bar. It’s a Mediterranean restaurant that has Sweetgreen vibes but Greek.
Aloha Hawaiian BBQ, likely replacing Mark Pi’s location, hints at delicious island-inspired fare based on its name!
Fishers beats HSE, takes home the Mudsock Trophy
Congrats to Fishers High School for winning a very close Mudsock game last Friday night! Final score was 37-35 and came down to the very end. These types of rivalry games typically do not have “underdogs” and that’s what makes them exciting—anyone’s game!
And to hijack this section since it’s school related — HSES is looking for your feedback on new Career and Technical Education programs. There’s a virtual information session this Wednesday if you want to learn more.
Mochi Joy Donuts is coming to Fishers 🥳
The owners of Mochi Joy are trading in their Noblesville VFW kitchen for their very own storefront at 8664 E 96th Street 🎉 No opening date yet, but we're already counting down for these chewy, sweet creations to come to Fishers. You can stay in the loop by following them on social media—check out their announcement post.
Side note — These are the BEST stories to share. Starting small, getting feedback and growing, and finally owning your own storefront. That’s the American Dream 🇺🇸 Well done Tom and Rachel!
Peak Allergy Season 🤧
Can’t stop sneezing? Randomly feel sick? It’s kind of normal. The Indiana Department of Health labels the third week of September as “Asthma Peak Week”. Which is when allergens like ragweed are at their max for the year. When combined with changing weather, this leads to a spike in allergy and asthma-related issues.
If you or your child are affected, the health department recommends staying alert and prepared in case symptoms worsen.

The Happenings
Your week preview 📆
OktoberFest Happenings 🍻
Despite its name, Oktoberfest begins in September. This shift from October to September was made for practical reasons. The weather in Munich is generally more favorable in late September, with milder temperatures and longer daylight hours. The festival runs for 16 to 18 days, ending on the first Sunday in October.
Here in Indiana we have no shortage of Oktoberfest celebrations. As in Germany, most take place in September. Here is a short list of celebrations in the Fishers area (in chronological order). Prost!

September 27: Monument Circle Oktoberfest, Indianapolis, IN German street foods, beers, and wines. 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 27, Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

Don’t forget that this month only a library card can get you free queso, a week-long class of Muay Thai, discounts at Bruster’s/Handel’s, and much more.
And by the way, want to be part of a world record? Join the library this Saturday for a “Party on the Plaza” to break the record for the most signups in a single September. There will be live music for kids, video game trucks, live caricature artists, and more! From 10 am to 12 pm at the library’s south entrance.
Skulls & Wine

Glow in the Park this weekend ⭐️
Glow in the Park returns to NPD Amp Sept. 20-21 from 8-10 pm. There are two events:
Friday is a 21+ event
Saturday is family-friendly
Though we haven’t attended, we’ve heard the 21+ event is a blast. If you’re on the fence, I say do it! Tickets are required and cannot be purchased at the event. Tickets here.
Your civic duty 🧑⚖️
Don’t forget! There are two important dates to remember as we head into election season:

Local Business
Local couple's wedding gets a sweet twist 🥧

Construction This Week
An indicator of summer winding down is less road construction. There is still a lot going on, but nothing major:
Phase 2 of Florida Road reconstruction is all week. A a portion of the road south of Manderley St will be closed
