The Digest

And the coolest idea of the night goes to... 🤩 🏞️

What’s the next big thing for Fishers’ parks? If a group of Mayor’s Youth Academy students has their way, it's a zipline.

Proposed as a White River Park attraction (new park coming to Fishers), it would give teens and the younger generation a new way to get outside and connect. They also did their homework, laying out two paths forward:

  • City-Funded: Fishers would foot the ~$2.1 million bill, giving it total control over pricing and access.

  • Privately Operated: An outside company would cover the cost, which would likely mean higher ticket prices.

City Council members seemed to love the idea, so maybe we’ll have a zipline one day thanks to these students’ efforts. Watch their presentation here.

The Best of Both Worlds in Fishers... 🌳*

Imagine nearly an acre of private, tree-lined property giving both “private retreat” and “minutes-to-everything” vibes. That’s 10602 Fall Road.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a dramatic two-story family room with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace that commands attention. With a huge primary suite and a fully finished basement, there's a dedicated space for every part of your life—from quiet mornings to lively family gatherings.

A home with this much land, a prime location, and a move-in-ready finish is a rare find.

21-Home Pulte Project Gets the Green Light 🟢

A 21-home subdivision from Pulte Homes is officially moving forward on Cumberland Road. The project, which came from the Plan Commission with a "no recommendation," prompted discussion on a few key aspects of the plan.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the points that were discussed:

  • Project Features: To meet city feedback, Pulte upgraded all homes in the plan to include side-load garages. The project will also implement a new drainage system designed to benefit the existing neighborhood to the south.

  • Points of Discussion: During the process, concerns about removing a forested area were noted. The council also discussed the plan’s 3-foot side setbacks.

The proposal was ultimately approved on a 6-2 vote.

Parking permits for crowded neighborhoods? 🤔

If you live near King Jugg or the Alhuda Mosque Temple, you know the parking headaches can be real. Fishers took the first step toward creating a residential parking permit system for those areas. The goal is to stop event-goers and visitors from flooding neighborhood streets. No final decisions yet, but it's the start of a process to bring some relief.

Big news for jobs in Fishers 🔬

A California-based life sciences company, 1Elevan, is relocating its headquarters to Fishers! They're moving into a vacant building on Exit 5 Parkway and plan to create 120 new jobs with an average salary of around $90k 💵 It's another big win for the city's growing biotech scene.

Bell Ford Bridge Ribbon Cutting

A 155-year-old marvel makes its big comeback this week, and you’re invited to the ribbon cutting. The Bell Ford Bridge officially opens this Thursday at 10 am at Geist Park (10179 Florida Rd).

This is the only Combination Post Truss bridge left on Earth, clocking in at ~160 ft long. It’s also the finishing touch to the Geist Greenway, which connects 96th → 131st St through a pedestrian trail.

Looking back 👉 Videos and photos of the bridge being moved into place last September show how much progress and work it took to restore this thing.
