Today’s issue in partnership with:
Good Wednesday Morning. This is Fishers Digest. A few of you astute and loyal readers have asked me - where the heck is my Friday issue?! My answer is: potentially this summer 😊
Rental caps - what’s next?
A waterpark in Sheridan
TIL what Scott’s is, or was?
Curated events, don’t miss some of these

The Digest
Fishers rental cap passed - what’s next?
Well, it's official! Starting January 2026, no more than 10% of homes in any subdivision can be rentals. Mayor Fadness called it "securing the sustainability of our neighborhoods while ensuring the opportunity of homeownership."
Heck, even Carmel is following suit and introduced a similar 10% cap this week, suggesting this trend might spread.
As you can imagine, groups like MIBOR are not thrilled and throwing saucy comments out there like “We are disappointed by the Fishers City Council’s decision”
Will we be glad we did this in the future? Who knows. The City of Fishers definitely has our respect for trying either way.
Geist Waterfront Park Competition Coming to Sheridan? 🏊♂️

Looks like our neighbors to the north might be getting the ultimate summer hangout! Sheridan's town council is eyeing a proposal for Skylake Adventure Park.
Skylake would feature year-round climbing and ziplines, plus a warm-weather water zone built over a man-made lake complete with imported Bahamian sand, floating cabanas, and a 60-foot tubing slide.
Located just off U.S. 31 and SR 38, this project has already cleared the Sheridan Town Plan Commission to transition from a cornfield to a waterpark and now heads to the full council.

Local Business
TIL: Speck’s used to be called Scott’s 🐶
In the ‘90s, customers were (understandably) coming into Scott’s for his dog Speck. So he earned the naming rights, and the name “Speck’s Pet Supplies” has stuck ever since.
Leila Kheiry and the Current did an awesome feature on more of their story, which is worth checking out, as they are one of the few truly local pet stores. And disclosure: we get all of our dog food from Speck’s ourselves. Their buy 10 get a bag free deal rocks.
Indiana Mad Ants The Noblesville BOOM 🏀

I want someone to tell me Noblesville/The Pacers consulted the Costco Guys because their new G team basketball team name gets 5 big BOOMS. This is some stellar branding and a really fun name to say.
An affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, the Noblesville Boom will be the home team for The Arena at Innovation Mile. It’s about half the size of the new Fishers Event Center.
They are expected to debut during the 25-26 G League season next year. Check out their hype trailer in the meantime.
👏 Three scholarly awards
Monday night’s City Council meeting was arguably one of the better times to get recognized for something, with record-breaking crowds that the council was hopeful would clear out 😆
Earning recognition were the brilliant students from…
Fishers High School's Classic Quiz Bowl team
Hamilton Southeastern's Science Bowl squad
Southeastern Elementary's Science Bowl team
Congrats on your achievements!

CAVA is one of Fishers’ newest options in a sea of fast-casual restaurants. The question is - is it worth it? We had it over the weekend and our vote is yes, definitely. If you’re craving Greek, this should 100% be on your radar. We had both the Greek Chicken and Steak/Feta Gyros, and both had their own way of punching you in the face with that Mediterranean flavor. Check them out! (CAVA)
One of the most fun experiments I’ve had the pleasure of running was the Amazing People Index. Last August, we ran an all local, community nominated people meeting just one requirement: doing cool things. Be on the lookout for these folks 🙂 (Fishers Digest)
