Fishers Fright: Two Fishers Locations Are Haunted?

With Halloween just over three weeks away, we have to dive into these two places I found in Fishers with some spooky history behind them.

There’s a stretch of Allisonville Road near 126th Street with a nearly 200-year-old mystery behind it. Heady Hollow is tied to legends of a lost schoolhouse, children’s ghosts and even travelers whose cries were supposedly heard coming from the woods. The tricky part? Historical records don’t completely agree on what actually happened there. Read the full story here to try and decide what’s legend and what’s fact.

A cemetery tucked off Allisonville Road near 106th Street has a story that gets even stranger. Eller Cemetery is home to the grave of Civil War soldier James A. Payne, whose unusual tombstone placement became part of a local ghost story. The cemetery was even investigated by a paranormal TV show after a mysterious image was captured there. See what happened during the investigation, and why James Payne became the inspiration for a local ghost story here.

Kick off Colts Sunday with a pre-game stop at St. Elmo Steak House or Harry & Izzy’s. Both downtown favorites open early for Colts home games, serving special pre-game menus filled with game-day favorites, breakfast bites, signature sliders and more.
