HSE Redistricting Update

Redistricting plans with Hamilton Southeastern Schools Corp. are shaping up as the consultant working on the plans, Andrew Bishop, gave his final recommendation to the HSE Board of Trustees.

Bishop said that the redistricting would better balance schools’ enrollment and that future development was taken into consideration. He also noted that the redistricting plan should be good for the next seven years.

I know school aged parents have been closely following this. The proposed boundary maps and other information about the redistricting process are available online here. Will this change where your kid attends school next year?

The HSE Board of Trustees will meet again on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at HSE Central Office to make changes if needed, and hopefully approve a final decision.

CityView

Have you ever wondered about the space being developed right off of 116th Street just east of Lantern Road? The project is called CityView, and it was announced last January, but there were some recent Reddit posts with different opinions and information.

Here is more information on CityView, including a virtual tour and renderings. This 55+ community and mixed-use development is said to be complete in 2027. Do you think this is a good addition to downtown Fishers?

More Than a Coffee Shop

One Day Cafe is now open, and it’s so much more than another coffee shop.

Together Employability Aims for More, Inc. (TEAM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers an employability skills training program focused on teaching executive functioning skills to help teens through adults become better skilled employees. They accept 14+ into their program. There is a fee for participating that includes one session of work in the coffee shop and one session of cohort (group learning of skills).

The coffee shop is the setting where they work on these skills live and practice how to apply the learned skills.

The cafe will be open Tuesday – Friday from 8 a.m. – noon if you want to grab a cup of coffee and help these young individuals practice what they are learning.

📍 One Day Cafe is located at 10294 E 96th St., Fishers, IN.
