The Digest

Luxury condos to... TBD

The million-dollar condos (pictured above) planned for 116th Street in Fishers? They're not happening. The Property owner Mike Alboher put the $35 million project on a shelf due to rising construction costs and high interest rates. BUT that prime spot near the Nickel Plate Trail won't sit empty.

Here's the new plan: Fishers will lease the existing buildings from Alboher for $300,000 a year. This gives him three years to develop a new proposal for the site. If nothing pans out, the city could buy the property for $6.7 million.

P.S. If you're a Thai Sushi House fan, you might want to grab your favorite roll soon. They'll be closing to make way for construction on whatever comes next.

Meijer plans up for discussion this week 🏪

Rendering from Southeastern Parkway POV

In case you didn’t know, a new Meijer grocery store could be coming to the corner of Southeastern Parkway and Cyntheanne Road in Fishers. The proposal? An 80,000 square foot store, two commercial out lots, and a gas station with convenience store.

But here's the kicker: the plan needs a zoning change, and the neighbors aren't all on board. Out of 90 public comments, it's a mixed bag of positive and negative. Scroll to the bottom of this doc to see pages of feedback given to the city.

The Fishers Plan Commission will chew on this on August 7, and they currently marked it as “no recommendation”. If it passes, it'll head to the City Council on August 19 for the final verdict.

If you have comments you want to add to be discussed, you can submit them here by Wednesday at noon 🗣️
