Balmoral Village
Found on the Fishers Development Dashboard
Lennar turning the Balmoral House into multi-family village was not on my 2024 bingo card 🤯 (then again, I don’t have a bingo card).
In its place may come a new development featuring 66 single family homes, 102 townhomes, multiple parks, and a walking trail to connect it all. That’s about as much news as there is to share at the moment.
You can view the full drawing here.
Grand Opening: Kura Sushi 🐟️
Revolving Sushi. Sunday. 11 am. First 50 people get a shirt (see the pic). First 300 get a sticker (also see the pic).
See you there.
(if you can’t wait, they’re open today and tomorrow from 12-9 pm but you won’t get the rewards)
TEDx Speaker + You = Monday’s Veterans Day Ceremony
Fishers has long history of honoring veterans. Banners line Municipal Circle, the central green space with brick pavers, the Gold Star Families Memorial, and Liberty Plaza itself.
And they do the events really well. Here are the details for Monday’s ceremony with guest speaker Doug Melville:
11 am at the Fishers City Hall Theater (1 Municipal Drive)
🪖 If you’re a veteran, here are some additional nationwide resources from the VA to make the most of your weekend.
Fishers tech co needs coding captain 👩💻*

More ways to celebrate our veterans
🇺🇸 On Saturday, Veterans and Active military will be given free admission to the Children’s museum (and families get a discount too). The VA will also have an education table, and the first 500 families in will receive an American flag
🇺🇸 The VA is hosting an appreciation event Tuesday from 8 am-3 pm at the FORUM Event Center. There will be two identical sessions for vets to share resources and for others to show their appreciation.
Gallery hop 🐰
Tonight from 5-9 PM is the Fishers Gallery Hop. This is a free event where you will literally “hop” to different locations around downtown Fishers to view featured art exhibits. The stops are walkable, but it’s recommended that you drive to your furthest location first so you don’t miss anything.
Begin at Meyer Najem 2nd Floor Gallery (11787 Lantern Road). Featured artists range from ages 6-60! How cool is that? And the first five people who visit all four galleries will get $25 off their artwork purchase.
Pasta Making 101 🍝
Looking for a fun cooking class with a local biz? Angelo’s Italian Market is hosting Pasta Making 101 over several dates through January. This is an intimate 6-person class lasting an hour and a half.
You’ll learn how to create delicious homemade pasta using standard kitchen tools - no fancy equipment required! Participants will also enjoy Italian Soda, charcuterie, and of course take home that pasta you worked so hard to make.
Unwind before the holidays 🧘🏽♀️
Source Yoga is hosting a workshop focused on restoration this Sunday from 1:30-3:00 pm. Here’s your chance to give yourself a gift and relax before the holiday bustle.
The $25 class will teach you how to support your body using blankets and props in a tranquil atmosphere. No experience is needed, but you do need to enroll.
Local Business
Smell good, feel clean 🧼
In the market for handcrafted bath bombs, laundry detergent, candles, or wax melts? Our new neighbor, The Soap Factory, will be opening their doors today in Hamilton Town Center.
They’re celebrating their grand opening starting at 10 am with an official ribbon cutting at 11 am. Sniff your way through soap sampling and get a sneak peek into their whole product line — all with clean ingredients that smell great and outperform big box stores (at least that’s what their brand says!).
