If you remember back to last year, the City of Fishers enforced a rental registration and cap on the number of new rentals that can be made available within city subdivisions.

House Bill 1210 that’s making its way through the Indiana legislature could do away with the new ordinance, if passed.

Last week, Mayor Scott Fadness testified before the Senate Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee in opposition to a House amendment that would prohibit Fishers from enforcing its locally adopted rental cap ordinance. He asked legislators to remove the amendment and allow communities like Fishers to continue making thoughtful local decisions so they remain a strong, viable city today, tomorrow and well into the future.

Cadillac’s Formula 1 Team is building its U.S. headquarters right here in Fishers and they showcased their inaugural livery in a Super Bowl ad. 

Mayor Scott Fadness mentioned the project when he delivered the State of the City a few weeks ago. He said it would transform the 96th Street corridor and that the facility will be open by the end of 2026.

The campus will handle car manufacturing, design, and team operations for the American F1 team. The 400,000 square-foot facility will be located at 10010 Andretti Way, Fishers, IN, situated near the Nickel Plate Trail and Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport. 

Here are some quick facts to know about the new F1 team that will call Fishers home.

We are getting a Wawa. Well, not technically, but basically. This popular convenience store, gas station, and food market has locations all over the United States and has recently made its way to Indiana.

A new location is being built right on the Fishers – Noblesville border, but technically in Noblesville, at the corner of 146th Street and Howe Road.

Wawa specializes in fresh, built-to-order foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services, and surcharge-free ATMs. They offer a large fresh food service selection, including Wawa brands such as built-to-order hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, built-to-order specialty beverages, and an assortment of soups, sides and snacks.

Foodies, Hamilton County Tourism has something fun planned for you and it starts this week with the Around the Table digital passport. This is your ticket to discovering incredible culinary creations and the local food makers putting Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield, and the northern ‘burbs on the foodie map.

Participants check in at participating local restaurants by entering a unique restaurant code provided by staff at each venue. Those who visit four different places on the passport will earn a limited-edition Around the Table – Hamilton County, Indiana Cookbook, featuring more than 25 recipes from local chefs and restaurateurs.
