The Digest
End of three eras
Purdue, Notre Dame, and our Fishers Tigers' historic run all came to a heartbreaking end this weekend. Just 1 point and a few seconds separated the Tigers from back-to-back state titles, ending 67-66.
That's basketball sometimes. Great job to the team for an incredible and still historic season. Get the full play-by-play of the game here.
Best of April Fools - locally
Here are some of the good ones I came across yesterday.
Our "Plan B" Saved a Client Nearly $47,000 *
A client came to us set on FHA financing. After reviewing their application, we recommended a different route.
The result? A 0.25% better rate saving them $130 every month – that's nearly $47,000 over a 30-year loan!
This is what Cori and Amie do best: find the perfect loan that saves you money today AND tomorrow.

$50k donated 💰️
The Fishers Century Club, which meets quarterly to vote on a random charity to receive a donation, chose the INSROA Foundation.
The Foundation covers training costs for school resource officers who work to keep Indiana students safe while building positive relationships. Most officers currently pay their own way — $50 for membership and $150 for the state safety conference.
If you want to learn more about this group, check it out here and join the next meetup in June.
Once a year chance: Yoshino Cherry Trees in full bloom 🌸

The good news: For just one short week, ~50 Yoshino Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom in Indianapolis. Thanks to our friends in Japan who made the donation in 2012.
The bad news: With the storms and rain all week, the blooms may get blown off earlier than usual ☹️
I’d take any chance you get to see them this week. Here is the location downtown and good places to park
👉️ In case you miss the bloom: The City of Carmel is hosting a Cherry Blossom Festival in early May. Details are here.
🎵 Fresh music drop
The NPD Amphitheatre dropped its ticketed summer concert lineup. Not sure what this is? It’s the big, well, amphitheatre in downtown Fishers. The Farmers Market, concerts, annual blues fest, and many other events happen here all summer. It’s worth checking out!
Checkout the lineup here.
Conner Prairie also released its summer lineup for Symphony on the Prairie. Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Jimmy Buffet, and more tributes are set to play. The list is here.
🗺️ Need a spring break idea? Here are curious things to see and do
Have you heard of the Atlas Obscura? It’s the Wikipedia of the most curious places and things to see. With spring break next week (for most of you), it’s a neat tool to discover a new place or two here in Indy or on your travels.
Bonus: Visit Hamilton County also put together a nice list of 25 different ideas.
Curated picks 📆
Inaugural Fishers Freight Home Game 🚂

This Friday, you can see the first home game for the Fishers Freight - our new Indoor Football League team. Never been to or seen an indoor football game? Here are a few fun things to watch:
You can dropkick the football when going for a field goal for more points
Pushing a player into the walls surrounding the field is totally cool and inbounds
4th down you aren’t allowed to punt. Go big or go home.
The field is half the size of a normal football field
You can get tickets to the game here, and check out the highlights from their first win against Northern Arizona last week.
🍄 Morel Hunting
Reports of Morels popping in Indiana are happening. And with this week’s rain, it will very likely kick off the hunting season.
Want to find your own (or buy some from locals)? I recommend joining this Facebook group and learning everything you can. I have never been successful looking in Hamilton County, but there are plenty of people who are.
