Fishers new Fire Chief 🚒

Photo from the City of Fishers during the Jan 24 ceremony
Ky Ragsdale is now officially the Chief of Fishers Fire and Emergency Services. He is a third-gen firefighter, Navy vet, and has spent the past 20+ years with the Fishers Fire Department.
Congratulations 👏
Did you know? Falls are the #1 call the fire department gets. They respond to almost 1,200 a year! If you’re 65+ you can apply to have the city come out and do some assessments and give you free tools to make this less likely to happen in your home. Details
Fishers Community Center Pricing

The wait is almost over for Fishers’ new Community Center. It will open this November.
You can snag a Charter Membership starting February 10, which will get you:
Your name on a permanent display wall
A limited-edition Yeti bottle (first 100 sign-ups)
And no monthly payments until the November opening
Rates are based on residency + age/household. For example, a single adult in Fishers would pay $60/mo.
Free vs. Paid: The playground, walking track, and Sahm’s cafe will not require a membership. Becoming one will get you access to things like the pools, courts, classes, childcare, and more.

Net worth: $1M
Career Journey: Over the years my husband and I played leapfrog with our individual incomes, each surpassing the other. When I earned my CPA certification, that changed and I became the primary income earner.
Budgeting Philosophy: You can't get out of debt if you don't know where your money goes. Since my 20s, I've obsessively tracked everything in Excel.
#1 way to spend money: Life is short. Whether it's a great meal, seeing a show, traveling the world, or sharing an exquisite bottle of whiskey with friends - these memories stay with us forever. Oh, and donating to your local non-profits too.
Warren Buffett Wisdom: He doesn't own a mansion - he lives in a middle-class neighborhood because he knows that the best way to grow your wealth is not to spend it on things you don't need.

I’m relying on the community on this one here so if it’s wrong, I’m sorry! But from what I’ve read, today is the last day the Kroger there will be open in it’s current location. The new one (across the street) will open the next day. Source is Reddit
Conner Prairie's Lenape Exhibit
Conner Prairie is building a new outdoor space and gallery to share the story of the Lenape (Delaware) people, who lived along the White River before being forced west. A $2.5M Lilly grant is speeding up the project, which will work directly with Lenape communities to tell their history.
The current Lenape exhibit will be replaced by "Lenape Connection & Kinship on the White River" in 2029.
And if you want to enjoy their current one, there is a storytelling event this Friday. Details.
