Not Just One, But Two DORAs Coming To Fishers?

Fishers could soon join Carmel, Noblesville and Westfield with not one—but two DORAs. The proposed districts would allow adults 21+ to purchase drinks from participating businesses and enjoy them while walking around the Nickel Plate District or Fishers District. The proposal received its first approval this week, with a final vote set for August 17. If everything is approved, the DORAs could open September 1.

Here is more information on the boundaries, hours, and local businesses that have already filled out applications to participate.

New Roundabouts Planned For Olio Road

During Monday night's City Council meeting, council members discussed traffic concerns related to the proposed Citizens State Bank at 116th Street. In the discussion, city officials shared that two new roundabouts are planned for next year—one at 116th Street & Olio Road and another at 113th Street & Olio Road. The improvements are expected to help with traffic flow in one of Fishers' busiest corridors.

Proposal For 116th Neighborhood

A new housing addition was proposed for 10401 E 116th Street at Monday’s City Council meeting. As proposed the new neighborhood would have 32 custom built homes starting around $900,000. I’ll keep an eye on updates for plans and what gets approved in the upcoming meetings.

Meijer Looking To Hire 200 Workers

This fall the new Meijer is set to open in Fishers and will be located at 15700 Southeastern Pkwy. They are starting the process of hiring 200 full- and part-time positions in all departments.

Birdcall

Another chicken spot could be headed to Fishers. Colorado-based Birdcall has announced plans to open five restaurants across the Indianapolis area, with the company currently scouting locations in the Carmel–Fishers–Westfield corridor.

The fast-casual chain is known for its craft chicken sandwiches, tenders, gluten-free nuggets, salads, milkshakes, draft beer and house-made margaritas. You can check out their menu here

Exact locations haven't been announced yet, but Fishers is one of the areas being considered.
