Chicken N Pickle is Out

Chicken N Pickle

I’m sorry to break the hearts of local pickleball players, and really anyone in the area that likes to have a good time, but…

Chicken N Pickle officially announced on Dec. 1 that they would no longer be opening a location in Fishers. The complex was set to include a restaurant, sports bar, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, and yard games and would have been located in Fishers District, east of Interstate 69 between 106th and 116th streets.

Here is more information on why the plans fell through and how the Fishers Redevelopment Commission approved a resolution to hold the property for future development.

What would you like to see go into that space?

How Are The Roads?

We’re no longer going to have to ask on Facebook “how are the roads?” (But we probably still will anyways).

You can see for yourself on this website that has lots of cameras and live video feeds around Fishers, especially the I-69 corridor.

Whether you like having all these cameras on our roads or not is a separate issue.

Poll Results Are In

It looks like nearly 40% of you have not been to the Fishers Event Center, according to last week’s poll.

If you want to check it out, I have the perfect, FREE opportunity for you to do so on Friday, Dec. 12, for Pepper’s Birthday Party! Come see the facility, meet Indy Ignite players, participate in volleyball drills, and support the Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank food drive. Just claim your free tickets here.

Hoosiers Compete for Big Ten Championship in Indy 🏈

Since 2011 Indy and Lucas Oil Stadium has played host to the Big Ten Football Championship, but this year more locals are invested, myself included, because for the first time ever the Indiana Hoosiers are playing for the title!

The undefeated Hoosiers will face the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday at 8:17 p.m.

If you can’t make it to the game, but still want to be a part of the festivities, because lets be honest, those game ticket prices are selling way above face value, you can check out the Big Ten Fan Fest for less than $16 for adults, and $10 for kids.

The Fan Fest will be at the Indiana Convention Center with interactive football games, mascots, merchandise, entertainment, youth flag football clinics, and more. You can purchase tickets here.

Golf In The Winter?

Winter can be a long season for golfers in Indiana, but what if I told you a new “course” is opening where you can play 24/7 and be warm…

The Back Nine Golf in Fishers will celebrate their grand opening with an open house on Dec. 13, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and they are located at 11680 Commercial Drive (across from Target).

 Here’s what you can expect:

  • State-of-the-art simulator technology & industry-leading analytics

  • You don’t have to be a member to play, but members have 24/7 access, savings, and other perks

  • You’re encouraged to bring your own clubs if you have them

  • Kids camps, tournaments, and space for private events to be held

  • Private lessons, swing evaluations, and player development programs with PGA Professional Mike Zedrick III

An advance apology for posting this goes out to all the wives who finally had their husbands home more on the weekends ⛳️.

Garden Center Transforms into a Winter Wonderland

Every Thursday – Sunday, until Dec. 21, you can visit the Winter Wonderland at Allisonville Garden & Home by Sullivan. Think twinkling lights, festive music, Instagramable photo ops, and sipping festive cocktails from the Winter Biergarten cozied up by a fire pit while your kids do free activities and play games.

And if you want something a little extra, and by extra I’m talking Santa and real reindeer, check out the calendar below with seriously something for everyone. You can get more details and tickets for these events here. Bonus: pick up your Christmas tree while you are there; one stop shop!
