How’s The Union shaping up?

Foodies: The final phase of the Fishers District area is The Union. And some new details have emerged from their leasing site and past press releases that show what we can expect.
This will be located directly south and (hopefully) walkable from the current “The Yard” area where 1933 Lounge and the Hyatt hotel is on 116th Street.

You can check it out here on Loopnet, as well as some lookbook renderings. Current expected opening is sometime in late 2026/early 2027.
New Roundabout coming to 121st and Hoosier Road

For the next 60 days, this intersection will be closed. Check out the image above for the detour details.
What’s special about this roundabout? It’s the one that will directly connect to the main entrance to the new Fishers Community Center this fall.

Family Fitness Week 🏖️
Fishers Parks wants you to start summer strong with five days of free, beach-side challenges that turn exercise into play.
From June 9 – 13 10 am to noon & 4 – 6 pm daily, Geist Waterfront Park will have a variety of stations that challenge your balance, speed, and agility for teams of 2-4 (ages 6+).
At the end of the week, the winning squad will earn a Fishers Parks prize pack and all the glory of winning a competition. Bring your kid, grab some sunscreen, and check out more Fishers Parks activities here.
📶 Lunch Radar: Chao Vietnamese Street Food

Your lunch quests deserve this gem. There aren’t a lot of food spots that just get it: quick service, friendly staff, right pricing, and food consistently good. Chao Vietnamese Street Food ticks those boxes.
If you're going to try one thing, make it their weekly lunch special. Right now, that’s a killer banh mi paired with a nice small bowl of pho. It hits all the right notes without derailing your afternoon. 🍜

Pacers Finals 🏀🎟️
Indy’s back to the big stage for the first time since 2000 after knocking out the Knicks 4-2 at home this past weekend. Here is what you need to know:
1️⃣ General public tickets drop Thursday June 5 at 2 PM ET on Ticketmaster. This is your shot at face value before the resale sharks circle. Ticket link here.
2️⃣ Watch party tickets for the Game 1 go on sale at 10 am this morning. Party is at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Tickets
3️⃣ The guaranteed home games are:
Wed June 11, 8:30 PM – Thunder @ Pacers (Game 3)
Fri June 13, 8:30 PM – Thunder @ Pacers (Game 4)
4️⃣ What?! It’s not every day the opposing mayor buys ink in your backyard to say, “Thanks for the blueprint, see you on the court.” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt just did. Using the IndyStar opinion page to confess he cloned Indy’s downtown-plus-sports formula, and now his Thunder meet our Pacers in the Finals. How poetic.

Looks like Carmel signed up to be a case study too. City Council unanimously approved a rental cap system and registry, very similar to the one happening here in Fishers starting 2026. 50% of Hamilton County cities now have a rental cap (given there are only four). (Current)
Did you know? The Fishers Health Department regularly tests Geist for water quality. They publish the sample results weekly, and inform residents when the water isn’t safe to be in. You can check out all the places they test here. Spoiler: it’s currently all good. (FHD)
Pizza fans, Indianapolis’ first pizza fest is this August. For a $17 ticket, you can get unlimited pizza samples from Indy’s finest, access to entertainment and contests, and rights to say you went to the first one. (Indy Pizza Fest)
After studying crash data and hearing from residents about dangerous driving, the City of Fishers identified its deadliest streets. To fix these problems, the city secured a federal grant to create a detailed safety plan. This plan is the first step in getting more money for real-world projects like building safer intersections. Check it out here. (City of Fishers)
🚧 Heads-up: from 7 pm. Thu, June 5, to 6 am Fri, June 6, crews will close lanes and all ramps at 146th St & Allisonville Rd (brief full stop around 10 pm), so expect big delays—skip the intersection and detour via 96th St, 191st St, or I-69 if you can.
Into coding and programming? I recently came across this tech community that has all sorts of events going on this summer if you’re in or wanting to get into the industry. Not an endorsement, from the outside it looks cool! (Indy Hackers)
