🚂 Fishers Freight

The Fishers Freight is the official name of our newest Indoor Football League team. They’ll be playing at the new event center, alongside the Indy Fuel and other unreleased events. Here’s some quick facts:

  • The colors (steel blue and high-vis yellow) and name were chosen as a throwback to the old Nickel Plate Train that used to run through Fishers

  • Their first season will start in March 2025 and will run through July

  • The hope is this signals that Fishers is a hub for sports and entertainment

The event center itself will be open in the fall of next year. You can learn more and pick up early season-tickets here.

⏱️ Last call for grant applications

This your reminder that on December 22, the 2024 Arts + Culture grants will close. This is an opportunity to receive up to $7,500 from the city to build an art or culture related project.

If you plan to apply, here’s a few tips to put you in a good spot:

  • Your project is completed in the Nickel Plate District

  • Meet as many of the Commission’s core values as possible. Requirement is at least two.

  • According to a 2019 poll: Culinary experiences, concerts, and permanent installations were the top three desired experiences

A great gift*

Gift Cards are not a lazy gift. Think about it. Here’s a few events throughout the year you might go out to eat for:

  • Your wedding anniversary, a birthday, graduation dinner, father’s day, mother’s day, valentine’s day. You get the point.

That is what really makes them the perfect gift. Who doesn’t like a useful gift? And when you receive a Huse Culinary Gift Card, they can be used at any of their restaurants. Local favs like HC Tavern and 1933 Lounge are great, but they also have multiple locations downtown.

They’re running a great limited time promotion this year for 20% bonus gift cards. This is your once-a-year chance to pre-buy your family's festivities and save some dough. So make the smart choice and act now. Offer ends December 31st.
