  • Leanne Morgan (comedy) - Nov. 30, 2024

Hamilton County’s To-Do List 🏡

The Hamilton County Community Foundation dropped a report on what they believe our community needs most. Spoiler: we're crushing it compared to state averages, but there's always room for improvement. Here’s where:

  • Affordable Housing

  • Education & Training

  • Social Services

  • Childcare Solutions

  • Transportation

That might seem like a pretty standard community wishlist. And it is. But it's still cool to see some data-driven direction for future planning and grant funding.

Avoid this area on your boat ❌

From Facebook: Geist Reservoir

Captains, steer clear of the red circle area in Geist Reservoir. DNR's checking it out after it claimed at least one unlucky boat. What's lurking down there? Facebook has theories:

  • A sunken dock

  • Sandbar/rock pile

  • Trees

  • A bridge

  • A church

  • Building foundation

Whatever it is, I would avoid this spot unless you're looking to trade your boat for a submarine. Thanks to Amber who shared this heads up with the Geist community, and sorry about your ride!

Fun fact: There's actually a submerged town under Geist which took a deep dive when the reservoir was created. Fishers has a nice history on Germantown if you’re interested in learning more.

No, the police will not ask you for $$ over the phone

Fishers and Hamilton County will sometimes put out PSAs that they will never ask you for payment or anything urgent over the phone 😂 If you get a call with someone asking and they give you a name, you can call the Hamilton County Communications Center at 317-773-1282 to report them. Stay safe out there!

Local Business

More jobs coming to Fishers 👏

INCOG BioPharma Services is investing a cool $125 million for a second building in Fishers. What does this mean for you? ~100 new jobs with decent salaries up for grabs right here locally. Their goal for 2029 is employees having an average wage of $72,800.

INCOG BioPharma is a medical manufacturing company producing sterile injectables and other medical equipment for drugmakers. They’re a true Fishers-based company that started in 2020 and you have likely seen their campus on the NW corner of Exit 5 Parkway and Cumberland Rd. They also won an award this year for best medium size business to work for in Indiana.
