Fishers Holiday Traditions + New Events

Fishers Parks is debuting a brand-new holiday spot this year, and it’s a fun one — the Jingle Bell Junction. It will be a large, heated tent right near the Nickel Plate Amphitheater. Each night of the week will have different themed events, live music, and hands-on activities for the whole crew. And a huge bonus...almost all of these events are free!

Fishers will also have those holiday traditions you’ve come to love like Santa’s Mailbox, community festivals like a Merry Prairie Holiday at Conner Prairie, and the City of Fishers Tree Lighting. The last few years we attended the Fishers Police Department’s Winter Wonderland Walkthrough, and it was such a fun event for the kids.

Check out this year’s seasonal event lineup here. You can also listen to this week’s episode of The Scuttlebutt Club Podcast with the City of Fishers and hear about all the upcoming holiday events and Small Business Saturday features.

The Fishers Event Center Gives Back In a Big Way

🎂Happy First Birthday, Fishers Event Center!

It’s officially been one year since the Fishers Event Center opened its doors. And they've got some awesome stats!

- 141 events hosted
- 500K+ tickets sold

But maybe the best part is they've given back over $1 million to the community through through local nonprofit partnerships.

How did they do it? Instead of just hiring standard staff, they utilized 14 local nonprofit organizations to staff the concession stands. This model keeps resources community-based and puts money directly into local causes.

Orgs from the HSE Royal Guardians to the Central Indiana Kids Club and many more have benefited.

Congrats Fishers Event Center and thank you for caring about our community!

Fishers White River Park Is Open

It’s not completely finished yet, but if you’re itching for some fresh air, Fishers White River Park on the west side of town is ready for explorers.

What to expect: This is a nature-lover's paradise. We’re talking kayaking on the White River, miles of new scenic trails, and even spots for creek stomping (maybe save that for summer).

Quick notes before you go:

- The park is now open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
- It is located at the 96th Street & Allisonville Road intersection.
- The restrooms are not yet open for public use.

The full opening is slated for early 2026, but this seems like the perfect place to explore this winter when you need some fresh air and exercise.

Local Business

Shop Small Business Saturday

Roman & Leo (photo by Taylor Pearl Photography)

It’s a BIG shopping weekend, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, but also Small Business Saturday! I think this one is the most important, because you can shop locally and support small business owners right here in our own community.

So many local businesses are having specials or events this Saturday, so I wanted to make it even easier for you to support them with a roundup below. (I know this list doesn’t come close to covering them all, but take this as your sign to go support your favorite local business this weekend.)

Kilwins is having Buy 2 Get 1 Free on caramel apples, caramel corn, nutcracker sweet, caramel chews, pecan brittle, and peanut brittle. Plus, they are jumping on the 6-7 trend. Take a selfie, tag Kilwins, and get an extra scoop of ice cream for only 67 cents.

Blue Peppermint has deals Thursday – Monday with up to 35% off your purchase, free gift with purchase, BOGO gift cards, and more!

Roman & Leo will have up to 25% off your purchase, 50% off doorbusters, free gift with purchase, and treats for shoppers.

Unplug Soy Candles is having its Shop & Sleigh event with discounts, mimosas, a hot cocoa bar, doorbusters, giveaways, raffles, and more. Other local small businesses and venders like Hawley Trucker Hat Bar will also be there.

Wild Kard Vintage will be having savings through Dec. 2, where you save up to 30% off your purchase.

Wasson will be running 40% off all things indoors (houseplants, holiday décor, gifts, garden goods, etc.) **excludes fresh greenery, porch pots, and fresh-cut Christmas trees.

Rush Bowl Fishers will have $30 holiday gift cards for just $20, plus lots of other deals on its app like BOGO Wednesdays.

Pro Tip: Most local restaurants will be running promotions on gift cards this weekend, like 1933 Lounge, Cunningham Restaurant Group, Sahm’s Restaurants, and more.

Open Gym

The temps are dropping, which can make it harder to get out and be active, but I think I may have found the perfect solution for the whole family…

Fishers Parks and the Fishers Health Department are partnering to bring you free Open Gym time. This Sunday at Fishers Junior High from 1–5 p.m. you can bring the family to use the gym for different sports and activities.

Be on the lookout for more dates this winter.
