The Digest

Proposed parking fees for the Fishers Event Center

2024 is rolling by and we’re getting close to the Fishers Event Center opening. So close that they’re starting to discuss what parking fees might look like! The above table shows how much parking might cost when it opens in November. They plan to operate it as a commercial lot.

A free outdoor gym?

Fishers might soon offer free fitness for all! Kidding… sort of. Back in June, City Council approved a resolution that would accept a grant from the National Fitness Campaign to build an outdoor fitness court.

The 38x38 open-air gym (location still TBD) would offer a variety of equipment for all abilities and fitness levels. Each machine will have a QR code and visuals built in for convenience.

Approval is still needed for the costs of the project, and you’d have to wait until 2025 to cancel those gym memberships 😆

Everyone wants these neighborhoods!

Area in blue is the same part Fortville and Fishers want to annex. Published in the Fortville March 2023 comprehensive plan

In Fortville’s July Town Council meeting, they shared part of their growth plans from 2023 include a few of the neighborhoods in Fishers’ plan. So they plan to talk to the City of Fishers about their options for it… which might prove difficult since it crosses county lines for them.

But hey. Whether the area becomes Fishers or Fortville, the school district will stay HSE.

What Should You Do Before Selling Your Home This July? ☀️

As a top-rated realtor, I know exactly what sells in Fishers during the summer. July is prime time 🎆 The homes I’m selling are flying off the market, especially when they’re perfectly prepped for buyers. Here's a few of my best tips on how to make your home stand out:

Try a fresh coat of paint, surrounded by blooming flowers. Buyers are drawn to clean, decluttered spaces and love envisioning their summer nights on a staged patio. Even overlooked things like tilting your blinds the right way can make all the difference.

If you need help making your home irresistible, contact me today. I’ll help you prepare your home to impress and sell quickly and for top dollar. Your perfect buyer is just a call away! The Kelly Dather Real Estate Group | KW Indy Metro Northeast | Fishers, IN | 317-827-2066

Civic meetings this week 🔨

The City of Fishers has a new system for looking at public meeting agendas. I recommend checking it out! This week the board of public safety, armed services commission, arts and culture commission, plat committee, finance committee, PUD committee, and plan commission are meeting. Phew 😮‍💨

Cumberland Cottages coming soon 🔜

Rendering of the Cumberland Cottages on 141st/Cumberland Road

The Cumberland Cottages are a small series of homes offering affordable housing options in Fishers. When they opened up applications on May 9, they were fully leased within 24 hours with a waiting list of over 30 applicants. If you drive past them on 141st/Cumberland Road - they are really beautiful homes! They were scheduled to finish in late June, but look to be finishing up final construction touches. Learn more about HAND and the cottages here.

A Tiburon review 🦞

Tiburon, the sister restaurant to Monterey in Carmel, opened a few weeks ago on the corner of 116th and the Nickel Plate Trail. If you have a chance for an upcoming date night, I (Lindsey) highly recommend booking it here!

Don’t miss the Lobster Bisque, the Miso Butter Sea Bass, and pretty much the entirety of the sushi menu. DELICIOUS!

The restaurant is beautiful and modern. There’s also a fun, community-seating style option to sit across from new friends at the al fresco bartop. And if any of our readers happen to be Tiburon staff (ahem!), I’m happy to review the rest of the menu 😉

Anyone know what’s up with Patachou?

We don’t. There seems to be a stall in the construction of Café Patachou on 116th. Anyone have the scoop? Let us know by replying to this email.

We’ll be waiting patiently on the beloved croissant French toast and BLT Patachou.

Construction This Week

Hey, let’s talk. Twice now over the past week I myself have been caught off guard by construction/traffic. For example, I can’t find info on the work being done on Olio/Southeastern Parkway roundabout near Saxony but it’s got me good twice.

So here’s my recommendation to you: use your maps this summer. There is a heck of a lot of stuff going on and it gets very hard to track. It’s going to be your easiest and best bet to avoid getting stuck places.

New this week:

  • Fishers is into phase 3A for 96th Street and Allisonville Road. There will be a slight shift in traffic while they work on the driveway for the Circle K gas station.

  • Here is the list of ramps closing around 465 on Friday for three weeks

View the full construction report for the week here.

Thanks!
