The Digest

🎯 College GameDay raffle winner made $200k by not kicking

Fishers' Henry Silver became an ESPN College GameDay legend by drilling a 33-yard field goal to win $200K.

Here's the story: Bell Sessions won a raffle for the kick attempt but decided to let Henry (a stranger) take the shot after he convinced her he could make it. He played soccer at HSE, what’s a football field goal to him? The stakes were $400K for hurricane relief and $200K each for Bell and Henry.

Words can’t do the kick justice. Watch the full clip here.

🍦 Kilwins Opens in Fishers—With a Scoop That Gives Back

Kilwins is here 🎉 And they brought with them an exclusive local flavor: Mudsock Mud. A vanilla ice cream swirled with chocolate chips and rich caramel.

Every scoop sold supports Mudsock Youth Athletics. So yes —eating ice cream now counts as community service.

They are now open daily, 12–10 pm at 11594 Whistle Dr. Fishers, IN 46037

Drive Planning properties for sale

Location of the property being sold

What was supposed to be a stunning office—complete with an IndyCar on display—is now up for sale after the owner, Drive Planning, was exposed for a $300M Ponzi scheme. Many investors, including Fishers locals, were burned 🙁

The property is listed for $800K with one $300K offer so far. Hopefully it receives more, and helps support recovery efforts for those affected. See the listing here.

The Happenings

Your week preview 📆

Yes, Chef 🔪

Serious question: are your kitchen tools ready for Turkey Day? Sun King Fishers is hosting a knife sharpening event with Ash Blaeds on Sunday from 11 am - 9 pm.

A fresh sharpening will cost you $2 per inch of your blade (so if you have an 8 in chef knife it’ll cost you $16). You can also shop handmade knives for future Christmas gifts!

Adult LEGO holiday craft night

The Gathering House in Noblesville is helping you channel your inner child & get you into the holiday spirit. Build-your-own LEGO nutcracker, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine before the holiday chaos sets in. The event is Thursday from 7-9 pm and registration is required.

Level up your florals

Need a table centerpiece for Thanksgiving? Check out the floral arrangement class with Blume Flower Company happening on Saturday at 2 pm just in time for your Turkey Day festivities.

This intimate 1-hour class will be held at Le Macaron in Fishers, and includes flowers, a vase, floral arranging tools, an adult beverage + 2 macarons (and some other discounts in-store!) Seats are limited and you must purchase a ticket beforehand.

Coffee + playtime ☕️

If you’re a mom of young kiddos (ages 1-4ish) and you also like coffee (how could you not?), you might want to check out the Cafe Learn & Play events happening most Wednesdays at 4:30 pm at Niyyah Coffee.

Kids will do sensory bin exploration and other hands-on activities put together by a former teacher and therapy mom while you enjoy a well deserved treat. Cost is $10 and you can find more info on how to register here.

Add these events to your Christmas calendar 🔜

🎄 A Merry Prairie begins Nov. 29 at Conner Prairie and runs through Dec. 22 on weekends. Watch a 3D projection of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, enjoy sock-skating on Frosty’s Skating Rink, sing with carolers, and meet the kind folks of Prairietown as they prep for the holidays just like they did in the 19th century.

📫 Your little ones can start mailing letters to Santa as early as Nov. 30 and up until Dec. 13. The elves of Fishers will make sure he receives your wishes — and Santa himself will even write you back (don’t forget a return address!). Mailbox locations are:

  • The Nickel Plate Trail > Near the swings at Switch Plaza and just north of the 116th St. tunnel

  • Geist Waterfront Park > 10811 Florida Road

And if you can’t make it a mailbox, Santa also takes emails 😆
