DORA Update

The Fishers City Council officially voted to approve not one, but two DORA districts for Fishers, at Monday night’s meeting. One will be in the Nickel Plate District downtown and a second in the Fishers District close to the Fishers Event Center.

DORAs are defined zones where adults 21 and older can purchase alcoholic beverages from approved vendors and carry them outside to be consumed within the DORA boundaries.

Hours of operation for both DORAs will be Monday through Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Implementation of the two DORAs will take place after a review of the plan by the state Alcohol and Tobacco Commission.

You can find out more information on the new Fishers DORA districts, including FAQs here.

How To Help With Flood Relief

With the devastating amount of rain we received and severe flooding, I wanted to provide some resources on ways we can pitch in and help out those in need.

Volunteer with the City of Fishers to assist with flood recovery efforts.

Donate money to The Hamilton County Community Foundation. (Select the flood-relief fund during checkout. The foundation says 100% of money donated to the fund will be directed to relief and recovery where the need is greatest.)

If the flood has affected you, you can request assistance with temporary housing, food, supplies, non-emergency medical support and more, here

Conditions and road access will continue to change as water recedes and crews complete assessments. Visit FishersIN.gov/Flooding for the latest flooding updates, road closures, recovery information and resources.

Braden Smith Signed

The Pacers announced they have signed Braden Smith, former Purdue basketball player and Westfield native, to a two-way contract.

With the Pacers now having Smith under contract, he will spend time between both the NBA program and the Noblesville Boom in the G-League.

Buckhaven Neighborhood Approved

At Monday night’s City Council meeting, the new Buckhaven development was approved by an 8-1 vote. The Pulte Homes community at 11798 and 11842 E. 131st St. will have 23 single-family homes priced between $600,000 and $700,000.
