The Digest

Pothole blitz

With an influx of over 125k people for NBA All Stars this weekend, Indy is trying to blitz through their pothole problem this week. This video shows just how bad some parts of Indy are with potholes. It’s so bad that Fox 59 setup a site for people to nominate the worst potholes, like it’s a game 🤣

Fortunately, Fishers is pretty on top of these. If you ever come across one, you can report them here. They will stay publicly visible until they’re assigned and fixed.

🦸 Household hero

Ever looked at a leaky faucet and thought, "I wish I could fix this myself"? Or bought a brand-new flat screen tv only to realize you don’t have the chops to hide all the wires? Say no more. The Household Heroes Series at the Makerspace is your fast track from DIY novice to neighborhood ninja. Upcoming Classes:

  • Feb 21: Simple Electrical Wiring

  • Mar 20: Master Power Tools

  • Apr 17: Ace Picture Hanging

  • May 15: Conquer Toilet Troubles

  • June 19: Patch Up Drywall like a Pro

Civil Meetings

The Board of Public Works and Safety meets today at the City Services building (3 Municipal Dr) from 9-10 am. The agenda is a big one, with more than a few interesting items:

  • Allow Cafe Patachou to build their outdoor seating area on city property

  • Revoke more of Verizon’s permits to build 5g towers in neighborhoods. See the neighborhoods saved in this round here.

  • Approve an agreement for inspection services to build a two lane roundabout at 96th/Allisonville Road.

  • 👀 Updating the 2024 Farmers Market handbook, which includes removing info on the Wednesday Saxony market.

  • Adding 2 new neighborhoods, Royalwood and Geist Overlook, to the Geist Greenway project trail

The Fishers Armed Services Commission meets today at 10 Municipal Drive from 4-5 pm. These meetings are for veterans and non-veterans who want to help do patriotic work in Fishers. They’re responsible for many things, like 2024’s Memorial Day activities. In January, member Eddie Rivers was presented the Sagamore of the Wabash. One of the highest awards someone can receive in Indiana.
