New Hotel Awaiting Approval

A boutique Hilton hotel with a rooftop bar and pool could soon be coming to Fishers District. Today, the Fishers Planned Unit Development Committee is scheduled to review plans for a five-story, 125-room Curio Collection by Hilton hotel across from the Fishers Event Center. If approved, the hotel would include a rooftop bar and pool, conference rooms, a ballroom, café, outdoor patio, and ground-floor restaurant or retail space. The project would replace the previously proposed Chicken N Pickle development.

You can read the meeting agenda and staff report here.

Curio Collection is Hilton's upscale boutique hotel brand, with each property designed to have its own unique style and local character.

I'll keep an eye on today's meeting and share any updates once they’re announced.

Kirklin Main Street is throwing the 250th July 4th Freedom Fest at Travelers Point Distillery - food, live music, games, and all the good stuff, from 2 to 8 p.m. It's free to attend and family friendly. Find them at 400 East Madison Street and get details at kirklin-mainstreet.org.

Local Indoor Activities

The weather is extra hot and humid this week, so I’ve rounded up some fun indoor activities that you can do while saying cool.

Indiana Pickleball Club North, in partnership with Mudsock Youth Athletics, is currently letting all kids play pickleball for free every day from 2 – 5 p.m.

The Hamilton East Public Library (Fishers) has something for all ages, including the Ignite Studio, and they have events all week long.

Take the kids or go with friends to bowl at PinHeads Fishers. They run specials all week, like Half-Off Arcade Games on Thursdays, Service Industry Night for $10 unlimited bowling on Mondays, and Kids Eat Free on Tuesdays.

Did you know the Emagine Theater at Hamilton Town Center has $5 movie tickets AND free popcorn on Tuesdays? Just sign up to become a free Emagine Rewards member to get these perks every week.

Activate is a newer facility in Fishers where you become a part of the interactive game by jumping, climbing, problem solving and more as you compete against your friends in a variety of challenges.

The Indoor Playground at the Fishers Community Center is free for everyone and a good way for kids to get energy out while still being inside. This is a fun place to meet up with other families so the parents can talk over a beverage from Sahm’s Café and the kids can play.

Cooling Station

Again, with the extreme heat this week, and probably again at some point this summer, you might need a place to take a break and cool down. The Delaware Township Trustee’s Office is a registered Cool Zone.
