The Digest
New name who dis?
The time is now! The Indy Indoor Football team will announce their team's name and logo this morning at the Fishers Event Center. We’ll post the info on our Instagram as it happens 🎉
Fishers Disability Committee 🤝 Indy Fuel
The Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability announced their new partnership with the Indy (soon to be Fishers Fuel).
On March 22nd, they plan to have a block of 100 seats. Why is March significant? It’s disability awareness month. Tickets will go on sale early next January.
Superintendent hunt
The Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) School Board will interview 5 out of 10 applicants for the vacant superintendent position, with an offer expected by the end of January. Interview process key points:
January Interviews: The 5 selected candidates will be interviewed in 2 rounds during January.
Contract Agreement: A contract agreement is expected to be reached by mid-February, with the details posted on the HSE School District website 10 days before a public hearing on the contract.
Reporting Date: The new superintendent will report no later than July 1, 2024.
🚗 New traffic config
Here’s the main thing to know: You can’t change your mind on I-69 south after 82nd street.
There is NO access to Binford Blvd OR I-465 West when coming from 82nd street.
In mid-January 82nd Street to I-69 South will be closed completely for the rest of 2024.
Everything else is the same. Right for south, left for west. You can learn more about the ClearPath project with images here.
Reliable trips to Chicago
Amtrak’s Cardinal Route
Day trips to Chicago might become easier. The US Department of Transportation announced 8.2 billion in grants for improving train lines throughout the US.
A “daily, multi-frequent” high-speed train between Chicago and Indianapolis is on the list for what the money will be used for. There is currently only one train that goes to Chicago from Indy, and it takes forever (5+ hours) to arrive.
