The Digest

Vicious Biscuit is Open

A while back I told you about a new restaurant making it’s Indiana debut, Vicious Biscuit. It’s now open!

Vicious Biscuit offers Southern-inspired, fast-casual food, including over-the-top biscuit sandwiches like the “Fat Boy” and “Flame Thrower,” along with Southern-style appetizers, shareable items, and a variety of house-made jams and butters. You can check out the full menu here.

📍 8711 E 106th St, Suite 110, Fishers, IN 46037

They will be open Monday - Thursday 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Friday - Sunday 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.

I saw some of the festive holiday drinks they are making and it feels like a brunch with the girls is going to be happening soon. Need a last minute holiday gift? Gift cards are available online now.

High-Paying Jobs Coming to Fishers

INCOG BioPharma Services announced a $200 million expansion to its Fishers campus that will bring over 1000 high-paying jobs by 2030 to our community.

Beyond the capital investment, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce has named INCOG one of Indiana’s Best Places to Work for four consecutive years.

INCOG specializes in sterile injectable biopharmaceuticals. You can read more here about the expansion and how Fishers is becoming a life science hub.

Ice Skating Around Town

Elevance Health Rink of Morris Bicentennial Plaza

You can’t ice skate year round in Indiana, well at least not out doors. I’ve rounded up a list of places (outdoor and indoor) where you can take part in this winter activity.

Right here in Fishers you can ice skate indoors at the Indy Fuel Tank.

The Ice Ribbon at Grand Junction Plaza in Westfield is back for it’s second season, and you can even skate alongside some characters on select dates.

The Ice at Carter Green is the rink in Carmel at the Christkindlmarkt. You can make a day out of it with skating and eating/browsing your way through the holiday market.

Staying in Carmel, the Carmel Ice Skadium, has everything from drop-in hockey to cosmic skating and birthday parties.

Here is my pick for a date night (or family night out), show your Pacers game ticket and skate free at Elevance Health Rink on Morris Bicentennial Plaza. Not a basketball fan? No problem, you can still skate here through January 25th.

Fishers Snow Removal Guide

With the snow and freezing cold weather we had last weekend, I found this snow removal guide from the City of Fishers really insightful.

All the roads in Fishers are prioritized into groups for snow removal operations. Check out the snow plow priority map.

The primary (blue) and secondary (green) roads will receive all available resources. Once cleared, subdivision main (red) and subdivision (purple) roads will receive plow resources.

A few other things to note:

  • If snow accumulates again on the primary and secondary roads, resources will pull out of the neighborhoods to concentrate on the primary and secondary roads.

  • The subdivision main roads and the subdivision roads will be cleared after the snow event. Getting all the neighborhood streets plowed could take up to 18-24 hours.

  • Granular salt is not applied to neighborhood subdivisions.

Redistricting Plans Finalized

If you have school-aged kids in Fishers, this has been on your radar all school year.

And now after a long few months, the Hamilton Southeastern Schools redistricting plan has been finalized. After hearing from several parents the board agreed to make a few more changes before announcing the plan at the December 10th meeting. They did admit that making these changes might shorten the 7-year time frame, consultant Andrew Bishop, originally gave for the plan.

Here you can find more details on the plan, a boundary locator tool and the grandfathering option.

Will this affect where your kids go to school next year?

Find Your Max at the HCHS

Every family deserves a dog like Max (just like the Grinch). Loyal, sweet, up for anything. If you’re planning on surprising the fam with a new member, there’s no better place than Humane Society of Hamilton County. They are among the few no-kill shelters in the country and have plenty of dogs (and cats!) to choose from.

The pets in the photo above have been given a little extra holiday magic. The adoption fee for them has been completely waived. Plus Paws and Play Fishers is gifting every adopted dog a customized training package. PetSuites Fishers is giving every adopted cat a certificate for five free nights of boarding!

These pets need that extra help this year.
