A New Library On The East Side
Hamilton East Public Library officials are approaching the final stages of planning for a new branch on Olio Road that would better serve residents on the east side of Fishers and Noblesville.
Plans for the new location would have the library on Olio Road between 146th and 156th street, about a 10-minute drive from Hamilton Southeastern High School.
Here is what we know about the plans for the Olio branch:
$20.7 million construction cost paid for through the library’s existing tax rate
30,000-square-foot building with space for children, young adults, adults, study rooms and meeting rooms (with room to expand if needed)
10-acre site on Olio Road between 146th and 156th streets
Groundbreaking tentatively set for 2027; completion in 2028
The new branch still needs approval from the Hamilton County Council to move forward, with a vote expected in September.
116th & Allisonville Road Construction Update
Beginning Monday, July 27, the west leg of Fishers Crossing Blvd at Allisonville Road will close for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists will not be able to enter or exit the Fishers Crossing Shopping Center area at this connection to Allisonville Road. Drivers should use an alternate entrance and follow posted signage. You can see all the updates and details here.
Colts Training Camp
Colts fans, Colts training camp starts today at Grand Park in Westfield. Most of the days the tickets are free, and you can get up to six here.
Not only can you watch the team practice, but kids of all ages can also put their football skills to the test, see Colts Blue on stage, meet Colts Cheer, and more in Colts City.
After most practices players will throw autographed footballs into the crowd, and fans ages 17 and under can stop by the Colts City Info Tent before practice to pick up a team trading card. Some lucky cards will feature a special sticker, granting access to an exclusive on-field autograph session with Colts players after practice near the Hospitality Tent
