This issue in partnership with:

Good Tuesday Morning. This is Fishers Digest. We’re here to brighten your day, tell you what you need to know, and be on our way.

In today’s digest:

  • Are e-bikes cool on the Nickel Plate Trail?

  • Who’s on the Indiana 250 in Fishers?

  • Olympics watch party

  • Construction report

— Written by Lindsey Watson and Skyler Braun

This issue is 1,448 words, a 4.5-minute read.

The Digest

E-bikes on the Nickel Plate Trail. 👍️ or 👎️

A shaky yes 👍️ As long as the bike is pedal assisted and you’re going under 10 mph, you should be good. This is especially true for those of you with accessibility needs. This is based on a recent Facebook post that sparked a lot of conversation on what is or isn’t allowed.

A Massive Pickleball Auction ‼️

Just a few of the items from the Christy’s Auction

Christy's of Indiana is auctioning off the entire inventory of Pickleball Rocks, from paddles to nets to those fancy license plate frames you didn't know you needed. They have over 7000 sq ft of this stuff and almost 3,200 high-quality. paddles on auction.

This is your chance to score some frankly awesome gear without breaking the bank. Items are in small lots.

And if you’re wondering, why the heck there’s so much pickeball gear for sale in Indiana? This is a liquidation sale from a guy/company who duped investors out of 47 million dollars.

The movers and shakers from Fishers

We love a good highlight on the people winning in Indiana. Especially right here in Fishers. The IBJ released their politician-free* top 250 most influential business people in Indiana. Here is a round-up of the nominees from Fishers:

  • Erin Albert: VP of Pharmacy Relations, Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Co.

  • Marisol Sanchez: EVP of Legal Affairs, Endress+Hauser USA

  • Aaron Gillum: Senior VP, 50 South Capital Advisors

  • Rafael Sanchez: EVP & Chief Impact Officer, Old National Bank

  • Kristin Mays-Corbitt: CEO, Mays Chemical Co. Inc.

  • Brandi Davis-Handy: President, AES Indiana

  • Eric Neuburger: Stadium Director, Lucas Oil Stadium

  • Max Siegel: CEO, USA Track & Field

  • Robert Shegog: President & CEO, Recorder Media Group

Michael Andretti (building the Andretti HQ here) and Jim Hallett (owns the Fishers Freight and the Indy Fuel) are special mentions even though they don’t have Fishers listed on their profile. Congrats to everyone who made this list 🎉

What if we did a spin on the Indiana 250 except it’s focused on people in Fishers with three rules:

  1. You have to be nominated by someone else

  2. The nominee has to be doing something objectively cool

  3. Can’t be related to politics

The feature would be free. We would share who you are, what you’re doing, and why people should know about it. Sound good? If so, you can reply to this email with your nominations.

And if this flops and we don’t get any submissions then… you won’t hear anymore about this 😂 But I have faith!

The Fishers Housing Market is HOT… with the right realtor

Just a few of the homes the Kelly Dather team has sold this July

We’ve heard the rumors, too. Houses aren’t selling like they used to. If you sell now it’s too late. But don’t believe any of it.

That’s because Kelly Dather and his team are regularly moving houses in Fishers. For example, the Emerald Spring home we listed in Fishers Digest a few weeks ago? Sold in just a few days. So how does Kelly do it?

The best marketing you can get (only Kelly can put a home in Fishers Digest), 20+ years of experience in the Fishers market, and a trustworthy realtor who comes up with a unique plan for you and your home.

If you’d like to experience for yourself what it’s like to sell a home quickly in this market, you’ll want to contact Kelly Dather

Local Business

Last chance to get Mark Pi’s

The owners of Mark Pi’s are retiring. Which means the shop is closing too after 30 years of serving Fishers. Saturday (July 27) is their last day open, so go check them out before they close down for good 😢

128 miles for beaver food

IFYKYK. This is just for fun. On August 8 a Bucc-ee’s gas station will break ground in Huber Heights, Ohio. Right off of I-70. Once it’s built, it will be the closest one has ever been to Indianapolis/Fishers at just 128 miles away.

If you’ve never been, they are hilariously massive gas stations. For reference a local Kroger might have 8-12 fueling spots. This one will have 120 😂 They also serve great food and could probably be considered an American wonder.

We have a mobile app now 📱

I want to quickly interrupt your news to let you know that we have a mobile app! To download it, go to our site here and you should get a pop-up asking if you want to add it to your home screen. If you don’t get a pop-up, click the 3 bars in the top right and you should see the option to do so.
