A Local Spring Break Itinerary

Spring break starts this Friday, and if I was spending it in Fishers here is exactly what I would do with my three kids — ages 3, 7, and 10.

Friday we would spend the day at Hamilton Southeastern High School watching the best high school basketball players in the nation competing for a National Championship. The boys tournament features 10 teams and runs April 1–4; the girls tournament has six teams and runs April 2–4. We did this last year and the kids met the Boozer twins (now freshmen for Duke) and other top players. You can find out more information and get tickets here.

Saturday we are getting in the Easter spirit and having Breakfast with the Bunny and Springtime on the Prairie over at Conner Prairie. Then it’s home to watch the NCAA Final Four games at 6:09 and 8:49 p.m.

Sunday is Easter and filled with church and family time, but we will try and sneak downtown for the NCAA March Madness Music Festival to catch Megan Moroney and Post Malone.

Monday is the NCAA championship game so we are heading downtown for the Men’s Final Four Fan Fest at the convention center to experience all things basketball. Then we’ll head back up and watch the championship game at home.

Tuesday we are taking the little one to Dig Dig and then heading to the Nickel Plate Trail for a walk and lunch at Café Patachou. We might even have to come back out to the Nickel Plate Trail for an evening walk and dinner at King Jugg Brewing because kids eat free tonight.

Wednesday we are venturing down to the Children’s Museum if the temps are right. We haven’t been in a while and absolutely love the outdoor area, The Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience.

Thursday is half off the arcade at Pinheads Fishers, so we are taking advantage of our money going further.

Friday we are spending time at Finch Creek Park because my kids love that playground, the basketball courts, and pickleball courts. We’ll grab ice cream at Handel’s on the way home.

Saturday the Fishers Freight have a home game and we are going to cheer them on at the Fishers Event Center. The theme is retro gaming night.

Sports News In Noblesville

Each week I list the Noblesville Boom games in this newsletter and while their season may be over, the arena they play in just got a new name. The Boom will now play in Riverview Health Arena at Innovation Mile

And next to it, a new tennis center is opening later this year. Patrick Mouratoglou is a world-renowned tennis coach who will be opening Mouratoglou Tennis Center at 14469 Olio Road.

The facility will provide world-class training to rising athletes in Noblesville and the greater Indianapolis area, featuring six indoor tennis courts, eight padel courts and four indoor futsal pitches.

And remember, Innovation Mile is also the future home of the USA Gymnastics Training & Wellness Center and headquarters which is anticipated to open by the end of 2028.
