Good Monday morning. This is Fishers Digest. The local newsletter that never officially welcomed you to November. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of mustaches around town.
☀️ Today's weather: Sunny and breezy, with a high near 68°. When people talk about perfect weather, this is it.

FYI: There is an issue with the Microsoft Edge browser and our links. If you use this browser, it will tell you it’s dangerous. If you don’t feel comfortable proceeding, then don’t. But know it’s only an Edge issue :)
This issue is 1,065 words, a 4-minute read.
The Digest
Election Day
Local elections are tomorrow. For the busy individual, here is a step-by-step guide to November 7th for you:
Find where you need to go to vote. It’s based on where you live (ask me how I know 😂). You can enter your info on the Indiana state site here.
Go to this site and enter your address. It will show you exactly what options will appear on your ballot.
There will be a “yes” or “no” choice for an operating referendum to fund HSE schools past what they normally get. It equates to ~26m/year. You will pay with your property tax for the next 8 years. Learn more here.
🎉 Congrats! You should now know where to vote, who you will choose, and whether you want to choose yes or no to the referendum.
If you don’t mind, share this with a friend (make sure to grab your referral link below!). Local elections are important. Make your voice heard!
💡Fun trivia fact: Indiana is one of six states that allow straight ticket voting!
HSE Football takes down Fishers
🔵 One big thing: The HSE Royals defeated the Fishers Tigers with a decisive 38-21 score. Congrats to both teams on making it this far in a well-played game.
Looking ahead: The Royals face Westfield on the road this Friday. Both teams are riding high on winning streaks. HSE will need to win 2 more games to make an appearance at Lucas Oil for the State Championship.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
🔴 The good news for Fishers HS is they are on track to play during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
I can only imagine the excitement of seeing your school in one of the most well-known parades in the country. Here’s some fun facts about the achievement:
The Macy's Parade has run since 1924. The Tiger Band joins on their 99th year.
Out of thousands of options, the band is one of five nationwide for this prestigious event.
This is one of many parades planned. They’re also playing in the 500 festival next year.
In 17 days the band will head to New York. You can learn more and even donate here.
Stop hunting on Geist
The police department is kindly asking whoever is hunting on Geist to please stop. It’s a criminal offense.
I…was not aware there was something to hunt on Geist. Fish, yes. I am curious and if you know, please educate me by leaving feedback below or replying to this email.

The Happenings
November’s Storywalk is at Cyntheanne Park. This month’s book is “Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story”. These are self-guided hikes designed for little ones throughout city parks.
🎅 is already making appearances. Apparently, the first stop on his world tour is Cabela’s. Must be a big Fisher 😉 You can learn more and register here.
Penn and Beech just can’t wait to be in Fishers. So they’re hosting a pouring at Le Macaron (across the street from their new location). Happens tonight, and you can purchase tickets here.
Happening soon

Legal weed in Indiana is likely not coming anytime soon. A study committee made no recommendations after nearly seven hours of discussion. This comes after state neighbor Ohio is going through a vote to legalize.*
Here’s a few drone shots of the Fishers Event Center. Now I want a drone.

Construction this week
Here’s a high-level overview of what’s new this week:
The roundabout construction on 106th/Hoosier Road should have been complete now. Changes made to the design delayed progress. It should hopefully be drivable by the end of the year.
Geist Road and Fall Creek will have lane restrictions throughout the week.

Thanks!
