We summoned Kevin LOL 🦚
Well well well. Hey Kevin 👋
You can’t make this up. All it took for Kevin the Peacock to show up in our backyard was asking who the heck he was last Tuesday.
Turns out, Kevin has a deep Fishers lore and thanks to the help of readers Stacey, Mike, Marianne, Tiffany, Kelly, and Facebook this is it:
No one really knows for sure where Kevin came from, but he appeared in Rolling Knoll neighborhood about a year ago. He managed to survive winter (which neighbors were worried about), and now continues to wander Fishers. Presumably in search of a peahen. Kevin is most welcome here, and the Fishers Police confirmed this yesterday.

Fishers, Carmel, and Hamilton County are exploding 🧨
A Redditor made an original map showing US Census data for the newest 100k cities in America. Surprise! Fishers made the list, alongside Carmel (it’s showing Carmel is in California on the map which is wrong).
And you know what this means, another award is getting added to Russell’s belt on our website.
Geist Greenway ribbon = cut ⛳️
The Fishers Running Club helped cut the ribbon first
For those of you with a -37 zip code, this trail is your version of the Nickel Plate Trail. It’s a five mile stretch that connects many neighborhoods and parks together for a fun way to see the east side + Geist.
The last step to the Greenway is transplanting the Bell Ford Bridge from Seymour, IN to Geist Park which should be done sometime next year. Speaking of that park...
Avoid Geist Park’s water this weekend — E.coli 🤮
PSA: Geist Park (10800 Florida Road) tested for higher than normal E.coli this week. You can view all the locations that are regularly tested here.
This is not Geist Waterfront Park, which the health department says tested fine. The city planned Lū'au is still happening tomorrow.

IKEA bringin’ grad the purest test in life skills
So you’re a recent graduate. But can you assemble a piece of IKEA furniture? This might be harder than those recent finals 😆
IKEA Fishers will host a special event for grads on June 22 from 11 AM- 5PM. There will be free hot dogs, activities, and a furniture assembly contest. First to assemble a table (hint: it’s actually just screwing in the legs), wins an IKEA gift card! And all participants get to keep their table too. Register for free here.

Keanu Reeves will rock out at the Indy State Fair
What can’t this man do?! Keanu Reeves is the bassist for the alt rock band Dogstar. And they’ll be performing at the Indy state fair on August 8th.
The band will take stage to promote their newly released album “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and the Palmtrees”. Dogstar last released an album 20 years ago. Concerts are free with paid fair admission. Grab your tickets here.
