What’s cookin’ at the new Event Center? 🧑🍳
Food samples provided by the Event Center 🤤
Outside food and beverages won’t be permitted in the new event center (no surprise). But you won’t need it. You’ll feel right at home with some locally named soon-to-be favs like:
Fuel Zone
Geist Tavern
Railyard Pub
Nickel Plate Market
… and more. They’re hosting a tasting for media in the coming weeks so I’ll give you the scoop on where to line up when you go to an event there. Like the upcoming Mudsock rivalry basketball game between HSE and Fishers.
🚨 Neighborhood Vibrancy Grants for 2025 are open
This is a mega popular program that can help cover 80% of the cost for improvements to your ‘hood, up to $25,000.
It’s so popular that all of 2024’s $$ ran out halfway through this year. So seriously — don’t put this off if you think your neighborhood could use park improvements, solar lights, safety installations, and much more.

Your chance to rock 🎸
School of Rock (Fishers) is hosting a free mini camp on Saturday, Nov. 9. There are two sessions split by age group (10 am- 12 pm for ages 5-7 and 1-3 pm for ages 8-11). This is a fun chance for kids to learn to play a song, experiment with instruments, & enjoy the upbeat environment.
You can RSVP here.
LibraryCon! coming 🔜
Calling all anime, gamer, or cosplay enthusiasts! On Nov. 16th from 10 am - 2 pm Fishers Library is hosting their first ever LibraryCon. The schedule includes trivia, live performances, cape-making, a gamer bracelet workshop, prizes, and more.
Local Robotics teams will also be there to show off their latest projects. Adults can even “save the day” (and score some swag!) by donating blood.
Celebrate our local veterans 🇺🇸
The Fishers Veterans Day Ceremony is Nov. 11 starting at 11 am at Fishers City Hall. The event will honor our local heroes and their families, alongside keynote speaker and author Doug Melville .
This is an open event, but seating is limited. You can register here. Note: the event will also be live streamed.
Local Business
Update on Kura: Revolving Sushi Bar 🍣
Their grand opening will be Nov. 10th at 2 pm.
🤖 In addition to conveyor-belt sushi, Kura will feature drink-carrying robots and automated ordering kiosks
🤝 If you signed up for their email when we shared it last week — you may have received an invite to their soft opening starting Thursday
On their grand opening, they’ll be giving away free sushi and swag to the first 50 seated guests who show their rewards member QR code.
Making Thanksgiving easy
Don’t feel like cooking for Turkey Day? No problem. Here is Yelp’s top 10 restaurants near Fishers that will be serving up on Thanksgiving.
Are you in charge of the pie, but prefer leaving baking to others? The Food Florist to the rescue! You can also stock up on her freezer-to-oven meals for easy peasy meal prep while you’ll be housing all of those relatives. Her blueberry french toast is my favorite!

Construction This Week
Arguably one of the biggest 2024 construction undertakings is the 96th Street/Allisonville Road roundabout. Good news — it’s open 🎉 Here are more highlights for this week:
Tomorrow (Nov 6), SR 37 and 141st traffic will switch with two lanes open both north and southbound along SR37
136th Street will have periodic lane restrictions between 9 am and 3 pm this week
116th between Moore Street and Lantern Road will be closed nightly next week
You can check out the full Fishers construction report for this week here.
