The Digest
All-Star Event coming to Fishers 🏐
Bump. Set. Spike! The Fishers Event Center has secured it’s very own all-star event: the first ever Pro Volleyball Match!
This history-making event will be held on February 22, 2025, and televised on CBS. This is the third major All-Star Event set in Indy:
The NBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge back in February
The Pro Volleyball Federation match coming to FEC (this one)
The WNBA All-Star Game in July 2025
Tickets for the big event will be available soon. But you can snag tickets for Indy’s home team, the Indy Ignite, who will begin their inaugural season on Jan 11.
More accessibility in 2025 ♿️
As if we weren’t already pumped enough to have an event center in Fishers, we can’t forget about the Fishers Community Center coming in Fall 2025!
The new Community Center will boast an impressive list of accessibility features like an adult changing table room, a zero-depth entry pool, and even accessible fitness equipment. This is such a win for Fishers!
A quiet yes 👍️
City Council all voted in favor of some changes to a new noise ordinance. Here’s the sheet.
Quick recap: The noise ordinance hasn’t been touched in over 10 years. And with lots of new development — it’s causing problems in certain areas of Fishers. You can read the debate from October on an old newsletter here.
👮 Recs from FPD: If you have an issue with noise, don’t be afraid to contact FPD as it’s happening. The non-emergency number (317-773-1282) is staffed 24/7 and goes to the same place as 9-1-1.
Roundabout rants ⎋
Expect “bonus” traffic until 2026 on the new roundabout 96th Street and Allisonville Road. A side effect of the construction on I-465 and I-69.
The City of Fishers shared it wasn’t built or designed for that, which is why they’re trying to be proactive with new signs. To help with the growing number of fender benders and frustration.
So yeah. If you’re feeling like it’s not that much of an improvement… it isn’t… yet!
Cafe Patachou is open ☕️
By the time you get/read this newsletter, Cafe Patachou should be open. Their hours are..
Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
At 8654 E 116th, St. Fishers, IN 46038
The Happenings
Your week preview 📆
“Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!”
So. How well do you really know your Christmas movies? Pop quiz — who said the line above? Was it a) Kevin, b) Ralphie, c) Charlie Brown, or d) The Grinch?
It was Kevin of course! And if you got it right, Parks Place Pub is hosting Holiday Movie Trivia to put your movie knowledge to the test. Join in Wednesday from 7-9 pm and show everyone how it’s done.
Fire & Ice weekend
This weekend is your final chance to check out the Fishers Parks Night Lights. They saved the best for last with the theme of Fire and Ice. This one shouldn’t get rained out like last week, but it will be chilly.🥶 Dress accordingly, and don’t miss:
Live fire juggling at 6, 7 & 8 pm
Ice sled photo ops
Santa and roaming characters
Food trucks & live music
PLUS a holiday market ↴
Close out your holiday shopping:
🎁 There will be a Holiday Market this Saturday from 5-9 pm at Nickel Plate Amp. Cross off those remaining names on your list by purchasing local artisan-made goods, sweet treats, and home decor.
🎁 The Fishers Arts Council Winter Art Market is this Thursday from 6-9 pm at Sun King Fishers. Santa, hot cocoa, carolers, and crafts are all included in this free activity. That way you’ll have some spare change to purchase local handmade art like postcards, sculptures, watercolor art, and more. All the info here.
Local Business
In this section we like to highlight up-and-coming local businesses, or give snaps to places in Fishers that are doing something cool.
What local businesses should we feature in 2025? Reply to this email and let us know.
