The Digest

When’s the big month?

Looking at the calendar for the year, May and June are looking to be big months for Fishers. May is already classic for us Indiana folk, but here’s what we’re looking forward to:

  • A brand-new Fishers City Hall and Art Center building will be finished, replacing the previously sinking one. The new building will feature city offices, a theatre, public meeting spaces, and a public art center. The art center will be run by the Indy Art Center

  • The Fishers library construction should be finished

  • The Armed Services Commission will be hosting a big Memorial Day celebration. They’ve been planning this since last year

  • Year 2 of the Geist Waterfront Park

  • The Indy Mini Marathon

  • And of course, the Indy 500

🍦Kilwins is coming to Fishers

The second Kilwins in the Indy area (the first is downtown on Mass Ave) will be in Fishers. Franchisees Adam and Kirstyn Kallick will be opening it up at The Yard later this Fall at 11594 Whistle Drive. They’ll be bringing their signature hand-crafted chocolates, hand-paddled fudge, ice cream and more. And yes, there will be an open kitchen to watch them make the fudge.

🏠️ Meet Kelly Dather, Your Friend in Real Estate*

Back in 1992, Kelly Dather found himself talking to a stranger on an airplane ride about where he wanted his family to live. He was kicking around Carmel, but the stranger somehow convinced him to move to small town Fishers instead. That led to him purchasing a property in Spyglass back when 116th was just a 2-lane bumpy road (who else remembers this?).

And thankfully he did. Since getting into real estate, Kelly Dather has grown with his team to top 1.5% in the nation. You’ll be hard pressed to find a team of Fishers residents with more experience than them. Which is a win for you if you’re thinking about buying or selling a home in Fishers. Give Kelly or any of his team members a call or reach them at their website here: The Kelly Dather Real Estate Group | KW Indy Metro Northeast | Fishers, IN | 317-827-2066

Have some wine

Sunday, February 18th, is National Drink Wine Day. Here’s a few places to celebrate:

  • Daniel’s Vineyard - the standard when it comes to local wineries. And pro tip - they have a killer pizza.

  • Urban Vines - a super cool small batch winery in Westfield. If you go on Saturday, they’re holding a Saint Patrick’s Day “Practice Day” 🍀

  • Peace Water Winery (Fishers) - when you hear live music at The Yard, it’s probably coming from here! They call themselves “Indiana’s Napa Valley”

  • Spencer Farm Winery - fun historic winery in Noblesville

And if wine isn’t your thing, Sun King Brewery in Fishers is hosting their Galentine’s event Sunday night. Ladies only. Tickets here.

🇺🇲 Monday is President’s Day

This is a federal holiday so expect banks, schools, and maybe even your trash service to be closed.

> If you’re looking for a fun activity to do, Conner Prairie made a list of presidential meals you can make at home!
