Oops:

  1. I dropped the puck on this one. The teddy bear toss for the Indy Fuel game is happening tomorrow. Not tonight.

  2. Also, Geist Waterfront Park (where you can drop off a letter to Santa) is on Olio Road. Not Florida Road.

This issue is 1,114 words, a 3.5-minute read.

Santa’s new magic cottage

Christmas at the Zoo is back with all of its twinkling lights and animals, but new this year is an experience in Santa’s Magic Cottage.

Starting at 5 pm daily, guests can visit the Bicentennial Pavilion where Mrs. Clause will greet you. Next, elves will guide you to Santa’s personal study. This indoor experience is a great option to keep warm while still experiencing the magic of Christmas.

Don’t miss the “Joyful Animal Encounters” with reindeer, penguins, and mini horses.

Find your Max at the HCHS

Every family deserves a dog like Max (from the Grinch, duh) in the fam. Loyal, funny, up for anything. If you’re planning on surprising the fam with a new member, there’s no better place than Humane Society of Hamilton County. They are among the few no-kill shelters in the country and have plenty of dogs (and cats!) to choose from.

These dogs need that need extra help this year.

HSEF wins The Century Club’s quarterly donation 🏫 ❤️

The Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation was among three organizations randomly selected to support through the Fishers Century Club last Tuesday. And —thanks to a killer pitch — won the night’s vote.

To give an example of the many amazing things they do: last year, HSEF paid off thousands of dollars in student lunch debt for families on free and reduced lunch, ensuring all students have access to essential meals.

If you weren’t able to attend and would like to support HSEF’s mission, you can donate here.

Watch out for porch pirates 🏴‍☠️

‘Tis the season for lots of online shopping. And tons of packages delivered to your doorstep. When it comes to packages vanishing from your front porch, Indiana is the state with the priciest packages stolen, at around $250 on average 🙁

No one wants their precious (and pricey!) packages stolen. Here are a few tips: try having packages delivered to work, select locker or in-store pickup rather than delivery, or ask a kind neighbor to help.
